I. Position Details: Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist

Location- This is a Tri-County Itinerant position likely based out of our Greene Township location with an anticipated majority of Early Intervention services in Erie County.

Department: Early Intervention

Start Date: 2025-2026 school year, limited days in the Summer until August In-Service

Salary: Bachelor's: $63,830, Master's: $65,971, Master's +15: $67,385, Master's +30: $69,097 (based on number of post graduation credits)

Work Days: 187 work days per school year, 37.5 hour work week.

PTO: 10 paid sick days, 3 Personal Days, 2 Emergency Days per school year (based on start date)

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance upon hire date. $75/month for individuals or families. Life Insurance provided for employee at no cost.

III. Position Overview:

Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is seeking applicants for 7 full-time, itinerant Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to provide a majority of Early Intervention services in Erie County. The goal of an SLP is to provide remedial services to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, or hearing disorders with the outcome of improving expressive/receptive communication and attain the necessary speech and language skills.

IV. Required Qualifications:

  • PA Educational Specialist Certificate School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12- Required

  • PA State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology or ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's) or Eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year - Required

  • Must be willing to work EI stretch calendar (around 15 days flexed out of the school year to work during the Summer)

  • EI SLPs provide Special Education Services to students (ages 3-5) in a specialized setting to include pre-schools, day cares and in the home.

  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state where you reside and reliable transportation.

Candidates can be in their Clinical Fellowship year; however, must have their PA Educational Specialist Certificate School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12 or be in the process of obtaining that certificate.

V. Essential Functions:

  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
  • Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
  • Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
