Evaluates and treats patients with impaired activities of daily living, movement dysfunction and pain resulting from injury, disease or other health related conditions. Treats patients with the use of functional activity, physical agents and methods to assist in restoring normal functions after illness or injury.

The incumbent will carry-out her/his duties by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, acts in the best interest of Three Crosses Regional Hospital, and fully supports the mission, vision, and values of Three Crosses Regional Hospital. The incumbent will have knowledge of health care systems, and have demonstrated ability to interact, relate to, work with, and support the activities of a diverse workforce.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs Functional Assessments and Re-Assessments. Assessment of patients is completed according to policy. Collects pertinent subjective and objective information. Performs an assessment appropriate to the specific patient case scenario. Formulates appropriate assessment/re-assessment, treatment, plan of care and goals, which are individualized to the specific patient. Re-assess patient per department policy and takes appropriate action based on re-assessment. Potential discharge needs are identified and documented.
  • Selects and applies appropriate occupational therapy techniques, functional activity, exercises and therapeutic modalities based on current standards of clinical practice. Selects and utilizes rehab equipment in a safe and effective manner. Modifies the treatment program when indicated, to maximize patient progress.
  • Completes documentation on the same day that assessment, re-assessment or treatment was rendered. Documentation meets generally accepted professional standards.
  • Communicates and collaborates with interdisciplinary team regarding patient status, discharge plans, equipment needed, recommendations, and other patient issues.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Required: Graduate from an accredited Occupational therapy program.
  • Required: At least 1 year of related experience
  • Required: Current Occupational Therapy license, registration and certification as per state regulations.
  • Required: BLS certification
  • Required : Meet all Employee Health Requirements
