Conduct medically prescribed respiratory therapy under the supervision of a respiratory therapist.
- Implement an established treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Document findings of patient progress. Seek consultation as necessary.
- Monitor patient's response to treatment plan. Communicate patient progress and possible goal revisions to respiratory therapist.
- Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Provide discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
- May oversee the care provided according to established regulations and practice standards.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Temporary license from Alabama State board of Respiratory therapy required .
Education:
- Recent graduate from accreateid Respiratory program Associate's degree or Bachelors
