Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized and observational assessment methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing goals.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing communication, language fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members to establish cohesive care plans.
- Provide education to patients and their families to enhance progress beyond clinical interactions.
- Engage in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations, playing a critical role in ensuring continuity of care throughout each patient's therapeutic journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Commit to continuous professional development by staying current with advancements in the field through education and peer networking.
Education
- Possession of a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is highly desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment.
