Description

  • Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics using a variety of standardized evaluations and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies targeting both immediate objectives and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing abilities.
  • Facilitate personalized therapy sessions aimed at improving communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions.
  • Partner with physical therapists, occupational specialists, nursing staff, physicians, families, and caregivers to enhance comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to encourage ongoing progress outside of sessions.
  • Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions, ensuring a seamless transition of care.
  • Document all interactions and treatment outcomes in strict adherence to state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Remain proactive in staying informed about contemporary practices through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
