Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist with certifications in SLP-CCC and SLP-School to provide specialized support in a K-12 educational setting located in Lanham, MD. This contract position covers the upcoming school year, beginning August 16, offering a flexible schedule with three days per week at the Lanham location and an additional 1.5 days per week at a nearby school in Silver Spring for a full-time arrangement. This role involves working closely with a diverse student population, including approximately 60% of students on the autism spectrum (ASD), many of whom are nonverbal, and 40% with emotional and behavioral needs. The caseload also includes students requiring support in social skills development and articulation. Collaboration with educators, therapists, and families is essential to meet individualized communication goals and enhance student outcomes. Key qualifications and experience: Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC and/or SLP-School) Experience working with K-12 students, including those with ASD and emotional needs Skilled in addressing social communication and articulation challenges Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders effectively Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, monitoring progress, and participating in team meetings. Familiarity with current therapeutic techniques for ASD and emotional/behavioral support is highly valuable.
