Location/Department: Rehab Center / Physical Therapy Part-Time 64/pp - Benefits Eligible Duties/Responsibilities: Implements treatment based on the Physical Therapist's assessment & treatment plan. Demonstrates appropriate use & application of electrical & thermal modalities. Administers patient treatment with patient safety, privacy & comfort in mind. Demonstrates good time management in provision of treatments. Communicates with the physical therapist regarding progress & changes to the plan of care. Competency in inpatient and outpatient settings. Completes timely documentation using appropriate terminology in the correct format. Maintains effective communication with physicians, case managers, & other team members for optimal patient care. Effective use of EHR & other hospital systems. Active participation in patient care meetings as appropriate to patient setting. Represents the PT dept in interdepartmental meetings as appropriate to the work setting. Communicates effectively & appropriately with team members, patients, families & caregivers. Performs patient & family education routinely as part of therapeutic intervention. Incorporates written instructions & HEP for patient & family reference. Provides inservices to other MMH team members or to the community. Participates in department meetings, in-services, outside workshops & continuing education opportunities Modifies treatments in collaboration with the Physical Therapist based on ongoing assessment of patient performance. Complete necessary documentation of changes to the plan of care. Obtains physician order changes as needed with plan updates and modificatons. Actively involved in department programming improvements & new program/specialty developments Actively involved in new team member orientation. Provides clinical supervision of aides, students, or volunteers. Participates in peer/competency review activities in the department. Knows federal & state regulations pertaining to the delivery of PT services in various settings. Knows Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance & workman's comp regulations as they pertain to the delivery of PT services. Follows Hospital & PT policies & procedures in the performance of work activities. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong customer service skills Effectively communicates both verbal and written General physical disability treatment skills for physical therapy patients. Ability to use basic office equipment Ability to operate thermal, cryo & exercise equipment Ability to operate ultrasound, whirlpool, iontophoresis, adaptive & positioning equipment Education and Experience: Associate degree in Physical Therapy Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Indiana No experience required Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, standing, reaching, talking, & use of hands May need to lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
