JOB SUMMARY The Manager of Respiratory Therapy at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the Women's Respiratory Care department. With a focus on leadership, regulatory compliance, budget management, equipment and supplies, and performance monitoring, this position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist with extensive management experience, strong interpersonal skills, and in-depth knowledge of respiratory care. The manager interacts extensively with staff, patients, vendors, physicians, and regulatory authorities, and is responsible for making crucial decisions related to staffing, budget, equipment, and policies to ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency. As a manager of people, this role is responsible for supervising a team and optimizing operations within a designated department or area, ensuring productivity and effective team management.
JOB FUNCTIONS
| | --- | | Management - Responsible for clinical and administrative direction of Women's Respiratory Care to provide quality patient care. Directly supervises Women's Hospital Critical Care Therapist. Prepares or approves schedules for all Women's Respiratory employees.
| | Employee Relations - Responsible for the recruiting, selection, discipline, supervision, training and development, retention, and evaluation of personnel for the Women's Hospital Respiratory Department.
| | Performance monitoring - Responsible for assuring staff clinical proficiency on equipment and procedures, cost effective utilization of resources, and progress toward departmental goals.
| | Regulatory Knowledge - Must maintain current knowledge of all applicable regulatory guidelines, including reimbursement policies, for Women's Hospital Respiratory services and assure compliance.
| | Budget - Total responsibility for investigation, development, submission, justification, and implementation of Capital and Operating budgets for Women's Hospital Respiratory Care Services. Monitors and manages deviations from budgets.
| | Equipment and Supplies - Assure sufficient/acceptable equipment and supplies for quality patient care.
| | Clinical Reference - Must maintain a high level of clinical and administrative knowledge to serve as a resource for staff, other department managers, physicians and administration.
| | Customer Service - Monitors customer service and satisfaction through assessment and evaluation, customer complaints or compliments, and hospital surveys. Responds to customer issues and recommends and implements action for improvement.
| Job Knowledge: Must be a graduate of a respiratory program approved by COARC, and an NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist.
