About the Position

This position is with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) and functions as a Deputy District Manager . The Deputy District Manager undertakes technical and administrative tasks in assistance to the District Manager. Specifically, the Deputy District Manager assists the District Manager in formulating, directing, and coordinating a wide variety of a district's functions and responsibilities. Examples of work performed consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Assists the District Manager in planning, implementing and evaluating the technical and administrative components of the district; Assists the District Manager in performing administrative tasks with regard to personnel matters; Plans and provides training/development to staff members; Provides technical assistance and guidance to subordinate staff members with their casework; Advises staff members on matters of policy and administration; Conducts vocational rehabilitation case reviews; Reviews the work product of various staff members within the district; Assists in the coordination of activities in the district; May act in the place of the District Manager during his/her absence; Performs related work as assigned.

What you'll need to be Successful

A thorough knowledge of a vocational rehabilitation district's operations and the OVR policies and procedures which are related to the functional areas of rehabilitation counseling casework are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a master's degree and three years of experience. Hiring agency preferred qualifications: A Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field plus three (3) years of experience in vocational rehabilitation counseling or a closely related field is required. A Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification is preferred.
