Florida Physical Therapy Association is a dynamic and mission-driven professional organization dedicated to advocating and being the resource for the physical therapy profession in Florida. With a strong community of 6000+ members across Florida, we promote excellence, knowledge-sharing, and advocacy in physical therapy.
The Director of Membership and Communications is a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive membership engagement and communications strategies. This position plays a critical role in growing membership, increasing member value and retention, and elevating the associations visibility and brand across all platforms.
Primary Responsibilities include:
Membership Strategy & Engagement
- Develop and lead membership recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Oversee the member journey from onboarding to renewal to ensure a high-quality member experience.
- Manage and optimize the membership database (AMS/CRM) to ensure data integrity and actionable reporting.
- Conduct regular member satisfaction surveys and analyze feedback to inform strategic decisions.
- Identify and implement new member benefits in collaboration with other areas of the association.
Communications & Marketing
- Create and execute a multi-channel communications strategy, including email, social media, website, newsletters, press releases, and promotional campaigns.
- Oversee the content, tone, and consistency of all association communications and branding.
- Lead development of marketing campaigns for events, programs, and publications.
- Manage the design, production, and distribution of promotional and informational materials.
- Collaborate with team members to support advocacy and public relations efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in membership management, marketing, or communications, preferably in a nonprofit or association setting.
- Demonstrated success in growing membership and increasing engagement.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with association management systems (AMS), Microsoft Office, email marketing tools, and social media platforms.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, and deliver results.
