Recreation Aide Part-Time (max 29 hours/week)

General Purpose
This position is a part- time position with the main responsibility to assist with recreation facility duties assigned on a daily shift, which may change from day to day. This includes working at the front desk, answering phone calls, handling money, speaking with community members, continually supervising play in the gymnasium and other areas of the facility, helping with programs, and occasionally working after hour evening and weekend rentals, programs, and special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must possess great people skills, work well with all ages, and deliver great customer service.
Perform janitorial duties at the facility as needed on a daily basis. Maintain and restock supplies.
Help with set-up of tables and chairs, snack and coffee bar set-up, clean areas, and move equipment.
Assist with various activities, programs, sports leagues, events, and classes.
Must be responsible, mature, energetic and able to get along with different people and maintain order in a fast-paced environment.
Handle cash daily and enter transactions on the computer.
Applicant must be able to work on a team and be willing to take direction.
Work is in a fun but hard-working environment.
This is not inclusive of all duties and responsibilities. All employees are expected to also complete other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to assist in the setup, execution, and tear down of programs, events, and activities.
Push, pull, or drag on occasion, up to 25 lbs.
This is a physically demanding job at times, being on your feet for long periods of time.
Occasionally, employee may work out in the elements with rain, snow, heat or cold at special events or programs.
Required Qualifications
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for work performed.
Conditions of Employment
Must pass post offer drug screen and post offer background tests, if 18 or older
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must possess a valid Oklahoma State Drivers License.
This classification is a safety-sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and/or the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana certification will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.
