HIRING RANGE: $31.30 - $34.78/hour
The Recreation Specialist - Facilities assists in the day-to-day operation of their assigned recreation center by being responsible for the care and maintenance of the centers fitness and recreation equipment including free weights, cardio-vascular machines, and sectorized machines, in addition to building infrastructure, such as light fixtures, window coverings, etc. Each recreation center has specific tasks which are unique to that facility and change over time Completion of these tasks, which may include, updating bulletin boards, administering financial aid assistance programs and paperwork retention, are essential to the overall success of the center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide supervision of variable staff, coordinate the monthly front desk staff schedule, and ensure efficient operation of the recreation center during assigned shifts
Assist and support the Recreation Coordinator - Facilities in ensuring that operational programs and customer service objectives are met and that the center is clean and attractive
Assist with short- and long-term planning related to recreation facilities
Monitor the use of the center and ensure that user policies and procedures are upheld and respond to situations that are unsafe or may cause user discomfort
Monitor the centers registration and cash collection procedures and prepare financial and user information for each shift
Open and close center as required and set up and take down activity areas as needed
Provide required maintenance on equipment and give direction and instruction on appropriate use of fitness equipment
Maintain accurate records, initiate reports on center functions and issues, and provide information, updates, and announcements to staff and patrons
Coordination of the centers community service program
Coordinates facility rentals and reservations which can include birthday parties.

Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple, shifting priorities.
Must be able to work independently and as a team member.
Must possess basic accounting knowledge to prepare and monitor program budgets.
Ability to perform maintenance and repairs on related facility equipment
Knowledge and ability to instruct customers on the use of resistance, free weight and cardio-vascular equipment and programs
Working knowledge of computers and various software programs such as RecTrac
Technology Skills
Ability to use a personal computer, iPhone, and other technology as required.

Education and Experience
Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Recreation, Human Performance, Recreation Facility Management; OR
One or more years full-time progressive experience in club/recreation center facility management; OR
A combination of college training and satisfactory and verifiable full-time or equivalent part-time, paid or volunteer, experience in recreation
Certification/Licenses/Specialized Training
Valid drivers license and good driving record required.
Must hold a current certification in Community CPR and First Aid (or obtain within 6 months of hire date)
LIGHT WORK: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work
