Position Type: Full-Time
Contract Length: 9-Month (with potential for summer services)
Location: Strafford R-VI School District
Start Date: August 2025
Position Overview
Strafford R-VI School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Student Services team. The Occupational Therapist will provide direct and consultative services to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The successful candidate will support student access, participation, and progress in the educational environment. The Occupational Therapist will conduct evaluations, eligibility reports and write ups.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate students' motor and sensory processing abilities to determine eligibility and need for occupational therapy services.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.
Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, parents, and related service providers.
Provide direct and consultative therapy services in various educational settings.
Document evaluations, progress notes, Medicaid billing (as appropriate), and maintain compliance with IDEA and DESE regulations.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary teams.
Provide staff development and strategies to support student needs within the classroom.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Valid Missouri Occupational Therapy License through the Missouri Board of Occupational Therapy.
Valid Missouri DESE Certification as an Occupational Therapist (OT).
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
Experience working with school-aged children and knowledge of special education processes preferred.
Preferred Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage a flexible caseload across multiple buildings.
Proficiency in documentation and data-driven practices.
Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
