Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) -FT Who we are: Formerlyknown as Towanda Memorial Hospital, this facility is a satellitecampus of Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, located 17 miles north inSayre, Pa. The Towanda campus joined Guthrie in April 2015, servingBradford and Sullivan counties, offering ease of access to clinicalservices to those in the surrounding communities. Long-term careservices are also provided for patients with a 68-bed skillednursing unit and a 94-bed personal care home. How you'll contributeAn Occupational Therapist (OT) who excels in this role: Assumesresponsibility and accountability as indicated for the care ofthose patients being treated by Certified Occupational TherapistAssistants, rehabilitation technicians and occupational therapystudents. May be assigned to orient staff and students and assumethe duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence ofthat individual as qualified to do so. Assesses patients' needs;identifies and initiates appropriate occupational therapyinterventions; works cooperatively with other patient teampersonnel in maintaining standards for professional occupationaltherapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. Observes andevaluates treatment affect, accomplishment of short- and long-termgoals. Recommends change to physician, if needed. Performs anappropriate assessment on each patient and performs reassessments,as per policy. Performs accurate and timely QI scoring. Thepopulation is adult and geriatric patients requiring an adultmedical rehabilitation program and services. Able to assess patientpain interfering with optimal level of function of participation inrehabilitation; makes appropriate interventions to reduce pain;makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. What we're looking for Current licensure as anOccupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapypreferred but not required. Effective oral and writtencommunication skills in English with additional languages preferredCurrent CPR/BLS certification.
