An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a K-12 school setting. This contract position is designed for professionals who are passionate about supporting students communication development under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. As an SLPA, you'll help implement therapy plans, support students speech and language goals, and contribute meaningfully to their academic and social success.
Qualifications:
Valid SLPA license or certification
Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
Experience working with K-12 students preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow therapy plans and directions from supervising SLP
Understanding of speech and language development and communication disorders
School-based experience is a plus
Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined by the supervising SLP
Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Prepare and organize therapy materials and activities
Document student performance and maintain accurate service logs
Support the SLP in conducting screenings and informal assessments
Collaborate with educators and staff to support student progress
Participate in team meetings as appropriate and communicate effectively with the school team
