Occupational Therapist School Setting in Georgetown, DE

This role offers an opportunity to deliver occupational therapy services within a K-12 educational setting based in Georgetown, Delaware. The position is a contract role for the new school year, focusing on supporting students through various therapeutic interventions, including home health, healthcare settings, teletherapy, and school environments.

The position requires flexibility and skill in addressing diverse student needs, providing comprehensive occupational therapy services that enhance students' functional abilities and participation in school activities. The role may involve itinerant work with travel between multiple schools, ensuring therapy is accessible across the district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services in compliance with individual education plans (IEPs)
• Utilize teletherapy platforms to support students remotely as needed
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement effective therapy goals and interventions
• Maintain documentation and participate in team meetings within the allocated administrative time
• Adapt therapy approaches for home health and healthcare environments when required
• Support caseload management in alignment with the districts model and caseload cap

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid occupational therapy licensure and credentials appropriate for school-based therapy services
• Experience providing OT in educational, healthcare, home health, and teletherapy settings
• Familiarity with school-based IEP systems and documentation practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to travel to multiple school sites within the district as part of an itinerant model
