- Physicians Surgical Hospitals includes two surgical centers - Panhandle Surgical Hospital and Quail Creek Surgical Hospital, and one physical therapy center - Quail Creek Physical Therapy - and a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center, Advanced Imaging Center of Amarillo.
Responsibilities
- The Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports Physical Therapists (PTs) in providing treatments to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage physical disabilities.
- The PTA works under the direction and supervision of a licensed PT, implementing prescribed treatment plans and monitoring patient progress.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and functional training as directed by the PT.
- Monitor patient performance during therapy sessions and report progress or concerns to the supervising PT.
- Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices.
- Document patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapy area, ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working condition.
- Assist with patient scheduling and administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and professional guidelines for physical therapy practices.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited program.
- Texas state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Basic Life Support through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Previous acute care, rehab, or outpatient experience.
