Recreation Aide - Extended Day Site Coordinator

The purpose of this classification is to perform routine general task in support of the City of Albany Recreation and Parks Department for youths and adults participating in activities at community and fitness centers, playgrounds, special events, therapeutic and adaptive sports.The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Maintain good public relations with participants, parents/guardians, other staff members and general public.
Assist in planning, organizing and implementing programs and activities.
Set up of equipment/supplies and storage upon the conclusion of the program or activity.
Responsible for keeping accurate records, maintaining records and completing reports as necessary.
Responsible for the maintenance and safe and proper use of program supplies.
Maintain a clean, orderly, safe and secure environment for participants.
Communicate effectively with staff, participants and parents/guardians.
Enforce rules and regulations, policies and procedures in a responsible manner.
Clean offices, restrooms and/or other areas in facilities.
Sweep and mop floors, vacuums and cleans carpets and cleans windows and doors.
Collect paper and rubbish, empty trash cans, haul garbage to dumpster. Ensure entrances are clean.
Performs other related duties as requiredSixteen years of age or older. High school diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by 2 to 4 months previous experience and/or training working with youth and/or adults, performing maintenance tasks; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. May be required to work weekends and evening hours. May be required to possess certifications (i.e. basic first aid, CPR, etc.). May require possessing and maintaining a valid Georgia driver's license.
