Description
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using both standard assessments and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment strategies to address immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focused on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure seamless care pathways.
- Provide education to patients and their families to bolster therapy outcomes outside of the clinic environment.
- Engage in supportive inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a consistent continuum of care.
- Document patient progress accurately and promptly in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay informed about the latest methodologies in the field through ongoing education and connection with fellow professionals.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as an SLP .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting.
