Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Located just 35 minutes north of Norwich, CT, this full-time contract position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in speech-language pathology within a K-8 educational setting. This role spans a full semester and involves working closely with students from Pre-K through 8th grade, supporting their communication needs and contributing to their academic success. Key Responsibilities: Actively participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and develop IEP goals and objectives tailored to each student's needs. Design and implement instructional and therapeutic lessons that align with individual IEP objectives. Prepare written reports that include diagnostic data and provide recommendations for educational interventions, curriculum adjustments, and teaching strategies. Offer consultative support to teachers and school personnel regarding students' speech and language performance. Communicate progress and provide support to parents as appropriate. Maintain strict confidentiality concerning student information and records. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to foster student growth and success. Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as part of service delivery. Perform other related duties as assigned by school leadership. Qualifications and Skills: Must hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC). Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related education discipline from an accredited institution. Demonstrated knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. Strong understanding of special education principles, differentiated instruction, and compliance with federal and state education laws. Proficient with data information systems, data analysis, and action plan development. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, students, and parents. Commitment to professional growth and self-evaluation.
