Speech-Language PathologyPerformance Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in administration of speech-language and hearing screenings (without interpretation)Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising speech-language pathologist, including expressive language therapy and oral-motor therapy throughout the school dayDocument students' performance and report this information to the supervising Speech Language PathologistAssist with clerical duties such as preparing materials and scheduling activities as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist and in concert with other service providersProgram augmentative devices as required by students' IEPs and as directed by the supervising Speech-Language PathologistPerform checks and maintenance of equipmentServe as a member of the IEP TEAM upon request of the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist and/or TEAM LeaderMaintain student and school confidentiality at all timesWork with paraprofessionals assigned to programs providing support Speech Language services, as neededPerform any additional responsibilities as requested by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, building principal, and/or Director of Student ServicesTerms of Employment: School year appointmentEvaluation: Performance of the job will be evaluated on a yearly basis by the Director of Student services or designee. Physical Requirements: The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting and climbing of stairs and step stools. Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement, such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. The position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis and over 20 pounds infrequently. There are frequent requirements of fine motor manipulation associated with the required use of computer, keyboard, calculator, and other business machines.Environmental Conditions: The employee is required to work indoors. Qualifications:1.Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited institution required2.Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant required, or eligible for Massachusetts licensure3.Must be highly organized, motivated, and able to communicate effectively4.Experience working in a public school setting preferredUnit A Contract
