Job Description


Costa Lifestyle Medicine is an established practice in North Beach, San Clemente. We are looking to bring on a dynamic licensed Massage Therapist who is passionate about helping people live more actively and pain-free. We are a growing wellness office specializing in chiropractic, soft tissue therapy, and functional medicine in a family practice environment. We have an immediate part-time opening for a professional, reliable, proficient, and energetic licensed Massage Therapist. We are looking for someone with skilled soft tissue techniques who will be able to provide a safe and relaxing experience for our patients. Therapists need to possess the ability to perceive patients requests and needs through good communication and need to be able to read patients nonverbal cues (body language) to adjust their soft tissue treatment. Ideal candidates preferred to be cross-trained in aromatherapy, reflexology, pregnancy massage, therapeutic massage, and cupping are highly preferred, pre-natal massage experience is a PLUS. Evening availability is a must, and future Saturday morning availability is a plus. We provide sheets, tables, and lotion.

Responsibilities:

-Analyzing, consulting, and performing massage treatments in a professional and comfortable setting
-Participating in team huddles before the shift starts
-Directing all efforts toward patient Massage satisfaction
-Follow massage treatment protocols as determined by Chiropractors.
-Evaluate the client to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
-Guide clients through service offerings and determine which massage would benefit them most.
-Listen effectively to patients during appointments and tailor techniques to meet their needs.
-Recommend further massage sessions and build a positive therapistpatient relationship.
-Recommend add-ons to patients who could benefit from CBD oil or cupping
-Performing 30, 60, 90-minute deep tissue, trigger point, sports, prenatal, lymphatic, and Swedish therapeutic massage.
-Maintain a clean, professional appearance of yourself and your work treatment space
-Communicate effectively with staff and patients.

Task Requirements:

-Modern office practices and technology. Google docs
-Need to be able to lift 50 pounds
-Must be proficient in using computers and maintain accurate, timely patient records and ensure compliance with clinic protocols.
-Strong knowledge of anatomy and ergonomics
-Be coachable, be open to learning new things, and further your education in the field of massage therapy.
-Reliable, accountable, positive attitude, strong work ethic, and organized
-4-5 hours of massage per shift, part-time time two days per week or more
-Clinical note taking on the electronic health record system is required
-Duties and responsibilities may be added, removed, and/or changed at the discretion of management
-Professional manner, discretion, and appearance
-Ongoing continuing education on massage technique

Work Experience and Education:

-Must speak fluent English
-Medical office experience is a plus
-High School Degree required
-A College Degree is a plus
-Valid current Licensed Massage Therapist state of California
-Proficiency in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, sports, and/or medical massage, pre-natal massage experience is a PLUS
