Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using a combination of standardized measures and observational assessments.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that encompass clients' short-term objectives and their long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational and physical therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Facilitate patient and family educational initiatives that foster progress outside of clinic visits.
  • Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring cohesive care through each phase of the therapeutic process.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with all relevant state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through workshops, training sessions, and collaborative opportunities with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) as required if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is mandatory.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
