Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across all age groups, utilizing standardized measures and observational assessments.
- Craft individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's short-term and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy interventions addressing language, fluency, voice, and swallowing concerns.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
- Provide training and education to patients and families to support learning and progress beyond the therapy room.
- Participate in inpatient evaluations and treatments when necessary, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain meticulous and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional protocols.
- Engage in continuous professional development through education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not currently ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
