Description
- Perform evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients employing both standardized assessment tools and observational methodologies.
- Craft tailored treatment plans addressing the immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions targeting areas like language, voice, fluency, and swallowing challenges.
- Team up with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to create integrated care plans.
- Facilitate education for patients and families to support therapeutic progress outside clinical environments.
- Participate in sporadic inpatient speech therapy evaluations to ensure consistent care throughout the patient's treatment timeline.
- Keep thorough and timely documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational practices.
- Remain updated on field advancements through ongoing education and peer collaboration.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
