POSITION:Educational Audiologist
REPORTS TO:Assistant Director of Special Education and Itinerant Special Education Supervisor
ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:The Educational Audiologist supports teaching and learning for students with hearing loss who utilize assistive listening devices. Responsibilities include managing and monitoring hearing equipment, providing training to school staff, and offering consultation services to ensure students have equitable access to the curriculum and are fully included in all aspects of school life.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for the assessment and diagnosis of students referred for concerns related to hearing loss in their academic setting
Responsible for preparing a written report upon completion of assessments
Responsible for attending Team Meetings to present findings of evaluations
Responsible for collaboration with parents, teachers, SLP, and other staff regarding accommodation recommendations, fit, adjustments, and management of assistive listening devices
Responsible for identifying the needs for assistive listening devices, employing cost-effective measures for the acquisition of the recommended equipment, and monitoring/troubleshooting personal hearing instruments
Provide support services and resources to staff, parents, and administrators
Responsible for the oversight of assistive listening devices, including the maintenance of an inventory database
Responsible for maintaining documentation specific to students with hearing loss

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Licensure from the Massachusetts Board of Registration for SpeechLanguage Pathology and AudiologyExperience in an Audiology and school settingAbility to work collaboratively with IEP teams, administrators, and parents/guardiansStrong written and oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate Degree in Audiology or Communication Disorders preferred
- Experience consulting with school districts regarding hearing loss, equipment, and recommendations
- Experience providing professional development to staff
- Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an AfricanLanguage, and/or American Sign Language.
