Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with BLS and ACLS certification for an adult-focused day shift assignment during hurricane season; license required if applicable.
Responsibilities- Work in a respiratory/neuro diagnostics department in an adult care setting
- Primarily serves adult patient population with occasional NICU coverage
- Day shifts consisting of 3x12 hours, 6:4519:15
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Assignment may include Emergency Team or storm relief duties during hurricane season
- Resources cannot be local; must live over 65 miles from the facility
- Duties may involve joining an Emergency Team and remaining onsite during hurricane events
- Orientation is provided 5 days a week prior to starting
- RTO (request for time off) must be discussed during interview or risk of rescinded offer
- First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Candidates are subject to storm-related coverage expectations during hurricane season
- Active CRT or RRT credential
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Compact or Louisiana RT license in hand at the time of application
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years of experience preferred
- NICU experience preferred; NRP required if assigned to NICU
- Candidates previously employed by the health system must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
