Description

  • Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through the use of established tests and observational assessments.
  • Create tailored treatment plans focused on achieving immediate goals and fostering long-term improvement in communication, cognition, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Engage in one-on-one speech therapy sessions that address aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and family members to develop holistic care plans.
  • Guide and educate patients and their families to ensure consistent progress beyond clinic visits.
  • Occasionally support inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless patient care throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain diligent and precise documentation in accordance with state and national mandates and organizational policies.
  • Commit to continual learning and advancement within the field through ongoing education and teamwork with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required for those not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
