Description

  • Conduct assessments across various age groups, utilizing both standardized evaluations and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized therapeutic plans tailored to achieve both immediate and long-term goals related to communication and swallowing.
  • Facilitate targeted speech therapy sessions focused on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, medical staff, and families to formulate integrated care approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families to ensure continuous advancement outside of therapy sessions.
  • Support inpatient evaluations and therapy as needed, ensuring seamless transitions throughout the care continuum.
  • Keep meticulous records in line with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops and peer networking to remain abreast of evolving practices.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • If not yet certified by ASHA, successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required.

Certifications

  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • A certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within the first 30 days of employment.
