Administrive:
Assist in planning, assessing, and evaluing programs to ensure proper coordinion between healthcare delivery within the section and the overall delivery of health care.
Make decisions with wide litude of control and independent judgment.
Exercises supervisory responsibilities such as planning and scheduling work, assigning work to employees, accepting, amending or rejecting completed work, assuring th production and accuracy requirements are met, appraising performance and recommending performance standards and rings, assigning delineed clinical privileges, approving leave, and effecting disciplinary measures.
Assist in training and oriention of new staff.
Uses and shares knowledge of contemporary audiology practice.
Articules and communices assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, and objectives, as well as advise on work methods, practices, and procedures.
Uses ability to coach the clinical team in the selection and applicion of approprie problem solving methods and techniques.
Shows potential to monitor and report on stus and progress of work.
Evalues program quality to ensure th methods, deadlines, and quality have been met.
Assists in serving as facilitor and/or negotior and coordining initiives and consensus building activities among clinical team members.
Clinical:
Conducts, plans, and coordines clinical and administrive aspects of a full range of services associed with contemporary audiology practice. Audiology services include comprehensive hearing testing, hearing aid prescription and management, and Compension and Pension hearing examinions.
The incumbent is responsible for independent diagnostic assessment and evaluion of cases th are referred to the Audiology Section without limition as to difficulty or complexity. The incumbent responsible to conduct interviews with the pients and approprie family members or friends; and to select, administer and interpret the diagnostic test results necessary to detect and evalue the presence of a hearing disorder.
The incumbent is responsible for (1) assessing pient conditions from examinion, observion and consultion with other members of an interdisciplinary health care team; (2) utilizing diagnostic and evaluive procedures and techniques consistent with contemporary audiology practice; (3) developing an approprie plan of care and delivering trement as designed and consistent with principles of evidence-based practice; (4) documenting evaluion and trement actions and outcomes in approprie forms in a timely manner, in accordance with facility policy, and completing all reled pient care tasks; (5) reporting the findings to Veterans and their families, and to professional colleagues; (6) provides pient and family educion including informed consent; and (7) optimizing clinical safety and efficiency by maintaining supplies, equipment in good working order.
The incumbent serves as a consultant to other facility personnel involving the most difficult and complex cases and is a recognized subject mter expert on mters reled to audiology and hearing disorders.
The incumbent will remain current with new developments in audiology and will maintain professional competency by reading professional journals and engaging in continuing educion activities and professional learning experiences, and by communicing with other professionals in audiology and reled professions.
Professional interpersonal communicion is required by this position and the incumbent expected to tend staff meetings and inter-disciplinary health care team meetings as approprie, review policies and procedures, and tend in-service training.
The incumbent may participe in research activities pertinent to audiology. Although limited research is conducted in the clinical setting, the use of carefully executed procedures may be a part of a research design. The incumbent may be requested to assist in ghering clinical research da.
The incumbent may perform ancillary assignments, including program management duties on an occasional basis, where the complexity and amount of the work is not substantial.

Basic Requirements

C. Educion: The individual must meet least one of the following requirements below. NOTE: all applicants must submit a copy of their transcripts.
Doctor of Audiology (AUD) from an audiology program recognized by the Accredition Commission for Audiology Educion (ACAE) or Council on Academic Accredition (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associion (ASHA).OR;
Other doctoral degree in hearing science or a directly reled field from an institution accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the USDE.
NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, the Accredition Commission for Audiology Educion (ACAE), and the Council on Academic Accredition (CAA) in Audiology and Speech Language Phology of ASHA accredits only doctoral degree or AuD programs in audiology.
Foreign Educion: To be creditable, educion completed outside the U.S. must have been submitted to a prive organizion specializing in the interpretion of foreign educional credentials. Such educion must have been deemed least equivalent to th gained in conventional U.S. programs.
D. Licensure Requirement : Individuals must hold a full, current and unrestricted license to practice audiology the doctoral level in a United Stes ste, territory, commonwealth or the District of Columbia.
NOTE: all applicants must provide a copy of their licensure with their applicion.
E. Grandfhering Provision: may qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
F. Preferred Experience: a minimum a five years of experience as a licensed audiologist, a minimum of three years of experience working with cochlear implants and/or vestibular evaluions/trement, documented experience precepting or mentoring gradue students in audiology, and documented experience in leadership and/or management roles.
G. Drivers License: A current, valid ste-issued driver's license is required for this position.

H. Grade Determinion: In addition to the basic requirements above, applicants must meet the following grade requirements.

(2) Demonstred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): In addition to the KSAs required the full performance level, the following KSAs are required:
(a) Skill in conflict resolution to facilite positive working relionships between employees, team leaders and managers.
(b) Skill in applying evidence-based practices in a professional area.
(c) Ability to analyze organizional and operional challenges to develop and implement solutions.
(d) Ability to develop the abilities and strengths of current employees.
(e) Ability to balance responsibilities, set priorities and delege tasks to meet multiple deadlines.

Clinical:
Conducts, plans, and coordines clinical and administrive aspects of a full range of services associed with contemporary audiology practice. Audiology services include comprehensive hearing testing, hearing aid prescription and management, and Compension and Pension hearing examinions.
The incumbent is responsible for independent diagnostic assessment and evaluion of cases th are referred to the Audiology Section without limition as to difficulty or complexity. The incumbent responsible to conduct interviews with the pients and approprie family members or friends; and to select, administer and interpret the diagnostic test results necessary to detect and evalue the presence of a hearing disorder.
The incumbent is responsible for (1) assessing pient conditions from examinion, observion and consultion with other members of an interdisciplinary health care team; (2) utilizing diagnostic and evaluive procedures and techniques consistent with contemporary audiology practice; (3) developing an approprie plan of care and delivering trement as designed and consistent with principles of evidence-based practice; (4) documenting evaluion and trement actions and outcomes in approprie forms in a timely manner, in accordance with facility policy, and completing all reled pient care tasks; (5) reporting the findings to Veterans and their families, and to professional colleagues; (6) provides pient and family educion including informed consent; and (7) optimizing clinical safety and efficiency by maintaining supplies, equipment in good working order.
The incumbent serves as a consultant to other facility personnel involving the most difficult and complex cases and is a recognized subject mter expert on mters reled to audiology and hearing disorders.
The incumbent will remain current with new developments in audiology and will maintain professional competency by reading professional journals and engaging in continuing educion activities and professional learning experiences, and by communicing with other professionals in audiology and reled professions.
Professional interpersonal communicion is required by this position and the incumbent expected to tend staff meetings and inter-disciplinary health care team meetings as approprie, review policies and procedures, and tend in-service training.
The incumbent may participe in research activities pertinent to audiology. Although limited research is conducted in the clinical setting, the use of carefully executed procedures may be a part of a research design. The incumbent may be requested to assist in ghering clinical research da.
The incumbent may perform ancillary assignments, including program management duties on an occasional basis, where the complexity and amount of the work is not substantial.

Basic Requirements

C. Educion: The individual must meet least one of the following requirements below. NOTE: all applicants must submit a copy of their transcripts.
Doctor of Audiology (AUD) from an audiology program recognized by the Accredition Commission for Audiology Educion (ACAE) or Council on Academic Accredition (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associion (ASHA).OR;
Other doctoral degree in hearing science or a directly reled field from an institution accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the USDE.
NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, the Accredition Commission for Audiology Educion (ACAE), and the Council on Academic Accredition (CAA) in Audiology and Speech Language Phology of ASHA accredits only doctoral degree or AuD programs in audiology.
Foreign Educion: To be creditable, educion completed outside the U.S. must have been submitted to a prive organizion specializing in the interpretion of foreign educional credentials. Such educion must have been deemed least equivalent to th gained in conventional U.S. programs.
D. Licensure Requirement : Individuals must hold a full, current and unrestricted license to practice audiology the doctoral level in a United Stes ste, territory, commonwealth or the District of Columbia.
NOTE: all applicants must provide a copy of their licensure with their applicion.
E. Grandfhering Provision: may qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
F. Preferred Experience: a minimum a five years of experience as a licensed audiologist, a minimum of three years of experience working with cochlear implants and/or vestibular evaluions/trement, documented experience precepting or mentoring gradue students in audiology, and documented experience in leadership and/or management roles.
G. Drivers License: A current, valid ste-issued driver's license is required for this position.

H. Grade Determinion: In addition to the basic requirements above, applicants must meet the following grade requirements.

(a) Skill in conflict resolution to facilite positive working relionships between employees, team leaders and managers.
(b) Skill in applying evidence-based practices in a professional area.
(c) Ability to analyze organizional and operional challenges to develop and implement solutions.
