Position Overview:

As our Therapeutic Recreation Director, you'll design and lead a variety of enriching programs that support the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual well-being of our residents. Your work will make a lasting impact-and you'll be part of a team that truly feels like family.

What You'll Do:

• Plan and lead engaging group and one-on-one activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
• Foster a sense of community through social, recreational, and spiritual programming.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for each resident.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic care plans.
• Encourage resident participation and independence.
• Organize and promote events, outings, and special celebrations.
• Manage recreation supplies and maintain a welcoming activity space.
• Support new resident assessments and ongoing evaluations.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Director (per Connecticut state requirements).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity, empathy, and a passion for senior care.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
• A team spirit and a heart for service.
• Strong attention to detail.
