Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients across all life stages utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create tailored treatment plans that align with both immediate objectives and long-term cognitive, communication, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on areas like communication, fluency, language, and swallowing.
- Work in tandem with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop unified care approaches.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Contribute to inpatient evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Document care accurately and punctually, adhering to local, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning and mentorship opportunities within the clinical field.
Qualifications
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
