Description

  • Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric to geriatric demographics, employing various standardized evaluations and observational methodologies.
  • Create customized treatment strategies focused on both immediate recovery goals and longer-term speech, cognitive, and swallowing advancements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy focused on various areas, including communication, language, fluency, and voice issues.
  • Work harmoniously with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members to develop cohesive care approaches.
  • Educate patients and their families to sustain therapeutic improvements beyond your clinical sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations for speech therapy, ensuring a seamless treatment continuum.
  • Document effectively and punctually, adhering to all relevant state, federal, and organizational requirements.
  • Stay updated with ongoing developments in the field through professional training and peer engagement.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology obtained from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • BLS certification is required within 30 days of starting employment.
