un Connection and Consent for Massage Therapists and Clients (Ballston) no pay I'm looking to consult with licensed massage therapists on a new business idea for connecting therapists and clients. I've come to realize how beneficial massage is to my health and well being, but have found several frustrating issues that don't seem to have good solutions yet. For therapists, it can be difficult to find new and good clients, especially when just getting started. Then, after building up some clients while working at a particular business, it isn't always easy or possible to keep those clients when moving to a new business or starting a new business of one's own. Home-based and mobile therapists have additional challenges with trust and safety as they navigate client relationships. For clients, it can be a challenge to find licensed therapists that are a good match for their needs, particularly for male clients who are sometimes (understandably) not allowed to book sessions with independent female practitioners without a referral (which one rarely has, especially if they've just moved to a new city). I've built up trust with therapists, over time and after multiple sessions, but there is no easy way to carry that trust and good will forward when and if I need to find a new therapist after moving, while travelling, etc. Finally, important but awkward conversations can be, well, awkward or ignored altogether, leading to various issues, discomfort, and a less-than-ideal experience for both parties. One notable issue is consent, both in terms of what a client can request from the therapist, as well as where and how the therapist will touch the client. The glutes and other sensitive areas are a perfect example here as there are varying feelings from both therapists and clients. I'm a semi-retired software developer and am considering creating a service to attempt to address the above issues, as well as many others. If you are a licensed massage therapist (or a frequent massage recipient), I'd love to talk to you in more detail and learn how your experience informs the various issues I'm trying to address. I'm hoping to find others who are interested in these issues so this is currently not a paid gig, but it might become one if I move forward with the project. I'd be happy to talk on the phone, by Zoom, or meet and buy you a coffee if you happen to be near Arlington's Ballston neighborhood. post id: ... [ ]
