The Newport City Elementary School is seeking innovative and energetic speech language pathology assistants to join their team. This is a school year position. Newport City Elementary Schools mission is to educate the whole child to become a caring, productive participant of the community. Responsibilities include:Direct speech/language intervention with students K thru Grade 6, working with individuals and small groups. Consultation with SLP and teachers.Researching, designing visual schedules, data keeping, clerical work and documentation, preparing materials, analyzing classroom observation/intervention data. Using technology in language therapy.Providing support for hearing devices including hearing aids, sound field systems and personal FM systemsDesigning home programs.Qualifications include:Completion of Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) Program and/or Bachelors Degree in Speech Language Pathology strongly preferred.
