Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Specialist - Special Events .
The Recreation Specialist reports to the Recreation Coordinator. The primary function of this position is to plan and implement Community events, include the production of a variety of community events, purchasing supplies, staff and volunteer scheduling , contract management, vendor recruitment, volunteer management, marketing, and post-event evaluation. Customer service to include fielding questions and resolving conflicts with internal and external customers by answering customer inquiries by phone, in writing and in person, and processing event tickets and registrations.
**This position is a Limited Term Agreement and funded through June 30th, 2026.** You are someone who effectively exceeds customer needs by building productive relationships and taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty. You actively participate as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals and produce quality outcomes. - Associates degree in recreation or a related field or equivalent experience in recreation
- Two years of customer service experience
- Two years of supervisory experience, including program or community event oversight, in a recreation setting
- One year of marketing, cash handling, and clerical experience
- Knowledge of planning, implementing, maintaining and evaluation or recreation classes, programs, and events
- Knowledge of vendor, volunteer and sponsorship database management.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License
- Skill in Microsoft Office
- Skill in management and conflict resolution and emergency response
