Description
- Assess individuals from pediatric to geriatric populations through a combination of standard evaluations and observant techniques.
- Design individualized treatment plans tailored to address both immediate goals and comprehensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Administer personalized speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to create unified care approaches.
- Educate patients and their families, facilitating ongoing progress outside the clinical setting.
- Support occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions in speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity throughout the treatment process.
- Keep precise and timely records to comply with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days from start date.
