Description

  • Conduct assessments for diverse age groups including pediatrics, adults, and the elderly using observational and standardized approaches.
  • Create tailored treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Offer personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, working closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families to formulate cohesive care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and families to encourage progress beyond clinical time.
  • Assist with inpatient evaluations and speech therapy interventions to maintain care continuity.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Commit to continuous learning and collaboration with peers to stay ahead in the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), unless ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of starting.
