Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to support a K-12 school in West Hartford, CT for the current school year (CSY) on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a candidate with credentials including SLP - CCC and experience in healthcare, pediatrics, and school settings. You will work with a caseload of approximately 25-30 students, supported by an SLPA, providing essential speech and language interventions. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized speech and language therapy to students spanning Kindergarten through 12th grade. Collaborate with the assigned Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to manage caseload and support student progress. Implement therapy plans with consideration for a diverse student population including one student with a cochlear implant. Monitor and maintain clear documentation of therapy goals, progress, and data in compliance with school policies. Communicate effectively with educators, parents, and other professionals to optimize each student's communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology. Proven experience in pediatric speech therapy within healthcare and school environments. Ability to manage a caseload of 25-30 students independently while making effective use of SLPA support. Familiarity with handling cochlear implant cases, but no requirement for feeding or fragile student care. Not handling CF (Case Files) or direct SLPA supervision independently in this role. Willingness to adapt if required to use Will Callaway VBD protocols for therapy delivery.
