Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Respiratory Care Director is a professional Respiratory Care Practitioner who is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating respiratory care given by the designated healthcare team. The Department Director has twenty-four hour responsibility for the service standards, staff, leadership, decision-making, fiscal guidelines, and department relationship. The Department Director fosters a supportive, professional environment for physicians, staff, and patients. The Department Director is dedicated to Performance Improvement. This position will have oversight of all respiratory services in the hospital, which include the principal department, (7180), Neonatal Intensive Care respiratory care (7351), and Respiratory employees who float into the Emergency Department respiratory care, pulmonary function area, and arterial blood gas laboratories.
