Sarasota County Schools is in search of an Occupational Therapist to facilitate the special needs students independent functioning in the school setting.QualificationsBachelors Degree/Masters Degree in Health ServicesLicensed by the state of FloridaCertified by the state of FloridaKey ResponsibilitiesConduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for possible exceptional student education needs and prepare reports of the evaluation and findings.Plan intervention and service delivery programs to meet students individual needs.Implement and direct interventions essential to meeting targeted students needs.Provide information and consultative services to appropriate personnel in support of students with disabilities.Provide effective verbal and written communications to administrators, teachers, parents and other community agencies.Establish schedules for meeting with students, conferencing with parents and assisting in rehabilitation techniques.Provide resources to all stakeholders involved in the evaluation, identification of student needs and rehabilitation of students.Adhere to ethical / professional standards and to the rules governing the program at federal, state and local levels.Requisition equipment, text and other resources.Inventory supplies and distribute to the appropriate staff.Attend workshops and seminars designed for professional growth.Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.Provide for a safe and secure workplace.Model and maintain high ethical standards.Application InstructionsTo be considered for employment, you must complete our two-step application.
