ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:Rotating forty (40) hour work week, 24-hour shifts, seven (7) days a week. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the water distribution system and wastewater collection systems.

• Work with a crew to perform wastewater system maintenance and cleaning.
• Install meters at residential service connections.
• Install, program, and maintain AMR components.
• Perform water service turn-off and turn-on duties for residential, commercial and industrial customers.
• Investigate and mitigate issues reported on the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Provide customer service while performing responsibilities.
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED
• No experience required
• TCEQ Class D Water or Class I Wastewater Collection license must be obtained within one (1) year of hire
• A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
