Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients from infants through geriatrics, implementing both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate communication goals and long-term cognitive or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects including fluency, voice, language skills, and swallowing techniques.
  • Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide educational resources and support for patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a university accredited by the relevant authority.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within the first 30 days of employment.
