Description
- Thoroughly assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations employing standardized tests and observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focused on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Work in concert with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to facilitate comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide patient and family education to ensure progress continues beyond clinical visits.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient speech evaluations and interventions, promoting seamless continuity of care throughout the therapeutic process.
- Maintain prompt and precise documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Stay abreast of developments in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
