Position Overview:
The College Mental Health Therapist provides short-term individual and group counseling services to college students, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and academic challenges. The therapist will work in collaboration with the university's health and wellness staff to promote mental health awareness, provide crisis intervention, and deliver educational workshops to the student community.
This position is contracted, and the therapist will work a flexible schedule based on student needs and caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions for students dealing with personal, academic, and mental health concerns.
- Conduct mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain case documentation in accordance with professional and legal standards.
- Provide crisis intervention services.
- Collaborate with the university's Health & Wellness Center, faculty, and staff to promote holistic mental health care for students.
- Deliver workshops, presentations, and outreach programs focused on mental health awareness, stress management, and coping skills.
- Participate in case consultations and professional development to ensure high-quality care.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines and university policies.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience, preferably with young adults or college-aged populations.
- Experience with crisis intervention, brief therapy models, and group therapy.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00
