Currently seeking a full-time Therapeutic Recreation Assistant in Polk City, Iowa. This position works weekdays (8:00-4:30) with some evening hours required depending on persons served needs. Rotating weekend and holiday coverage required. This role supports individuals with brain injuries through engaging interventions under the direction of a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
Responsibilities of the Therapeutic Recreation Assistant:
- Assist in delivering individual and group recreational therapeutic interventions.
- Support both in-facility and community-based sessions tailored to persons served.
- Assist with aquatic therapy under direction of therapy staff.
- Document session details as directed by Therapeutic Recreation Specialists and coordinator.
- Help coordinate and participate in evening/weekend programs and special events.
