Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a **Physical Therapist** to work at a facility in **Catawba , VA.** These are _registry_ positions with our company.

**Pay Rate:** $82 / hour

**Job Descriptions:**

Licensed Physical Therapist to provide inpatient services **8 hours a week** . This position would complete inhouse PT consultations within 5 days of referral and develop a PT treatment plan within 3 days of evaluation. The PT will collaborate with OT and other therapy disciplines as needed, document treatment, and report changes/make recommendations to the PSR director and/or patient treatment team. The PT would preferably have experience working in an inpatient setting and demonstrate comfort working with individuals with major mental health diagnosis.

**General description:**

Hospital is a 110-bed state psychiatric hospital, Joint Commission and CMS accredited, teaching affiliation of University of Virginia & West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. 2 adult units of 50 adult beds; 2 geriatric units of 60 geriatric beds

Smoke free environment.

**Position is Part time, ideally 8 hours per week**

Required License: Must have an active License to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Virginia by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy

Length of the assignment: Indefinitely

Do they need to know Cerner? Not specifically but must be comfortable enough with technology to learn how to utilize Cerner or other EHR for documentation.

Individual must maintain their PT license.

Types of patient: Inpatient civil and forensic adult and geriatric individuals with major mental health diagnosis.

EPP Job Duties:

A. Programming

(Adult/Geriatric)

Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to provide Physical Therapy programming, evaluations, and treatments for adult and geriatric individuals.

Collaborates with others involved in care to facilitate increased functional patient outcomes

Within 5 working days of receiving consult, evaluate and document treatment needs in EHR.

Within 3 days of evaluation, develop/implement Physical Therapy treatment plan.

Develop and implement treatment protocols with clear objectives to meet the needs of patients.

Communicate pertinent information and concerns to the treatment teams, physicians, and nursing staff.

Redirect patient behavior, as needed.

Maintain a safe and hazard-free therapeutic environment .

Report accurate daily feedback on changes in patient behavior to the treatment team and PSR Director.

B. Maintain Quality Documentation

Follow department documentation guidelines and time frames with at least 95% compliance.

Document after completing assessments on both the PSR initial assessment sheet and the significant findings form.

Complete interdisciplinary notes as needed related to behavioral changes, as well as patient events (e.g. Pink hospital event form)

Complete timely and accurate documentation using Electronic Health record.

Document any reportable incidents on event report form and submit to proper supervisor.

C. Patient/Family Education and Staff Education

Coordinate and facilitate PT related and Physical Rehab sponsored educational sessions and in-services.

Assist with the development of educational material.

Collaborate with and educate treatment teams, nursing, and support staff to ensure carryover and maintenance of functional gains

D. General Responsibilities

Meets with Supervisor and/or Department Head, as scheduled, to communicate needs for assistance, supplies or equipment and receive feedback.

Works cooperatively with other PSR and hospital staff as demonstrated during supervisor's observation, and without complaints from departmental/interdisciplinary team members.

Arrives at work site daily in a timely manner with minimal unscheduled absences.

Other duties as assigned.

E. Education/Training

Fulfills requirements to maintain licensure.

Maintains current CPR certification per facility training guidelines.

Maintains current Therapeutic Options certification per facility training guidelines.

Attends scheduled mandatory/pertinent in-services related to job duties.

G. Attendance/Punctuality

Compliance with established Attendance Policy, with no more than five (5) occurrences in a calendar year.

H. Safety

Demonstrate consistent use of proper body mechanics and safety principles.

Consistently reports unsafe work situations to AT Department Director

Follows guidelines regarding Adjunctive Therapy Department and hospital policies that involve safety issues

I. Interpersonal Relations (IRP)

Contributes to a productive work environment through positive interactions with co-workers and supervisors.

Uses appropriate lines of communication and resources within the system to facilitate change and resolve problems.

Uses appropriate conflict management techniques and resources to resolve problems with co-workers in a timely manner.

Interactions with co-workers, patients, and families reflect an attitude of respect and courtesy.

Uses appropriate interactions and effective communication skills to facilitate positive patient outcomes.

**Minimum Qualifications:***

Knowledge of principles and practices of recreational/physical therapy; ability to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document related to programs for individuals referred to groups.

Ability to collaborate with peer therapists, interdisciplinary treatment teams, and demonstrate positive communication skills
