Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Design individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Administer specialized speech therapy interventions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
  • Collaboratively develop care strategies with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members.
  • Educate patients and families to foster progress beyond the therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Enhance your professional knowledge by staying current with advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
