American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) with vent and pediatric experience for a night shift assignment requiring VA state licensure.

Responsibilities

Position is in a respiratory/neuro diagnostics unit
Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays
13-week contract assignment
Care includes ventilator management and pediatric patients
Therapist will work independently on weekends
Proficiency with pulmonary function tests (PFTs) preferred
Work attire is hunter green scrubs
Main responsibilities include respiratory therapy services, ventilator management, and pediatric patient care
Therapist may be required to float to similar units as needed
Orientation occurs every other Thursday and includes online modules
Former perm employees must wait at least 2 years before returning as a traveler
Current employees of the health system are not eligible for this contract
Flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions considered upon completion of required documentation; religious exemptions are not accepted
Comply with emergency preparedness and potential on-call assignments during disasters or emergencies

Requirements

Active VA state CRT or RRT license required if applicable
Active BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS or NRP required prior to start
Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory experience required; 2+ years preferred
Experience with ventilators and pediatric cases is required
Travel experience preferred
Must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
Minimum two manager or charge references from the past two years
Must be able to complete required onboarding modules prior to start
No previous probationary actions on license, or actions must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
