**Job Summary and Qualifications**

+ Plan, direct, and coordinate medically approved recreation programs in behavioral health environment.

+ Observe, analyze, and record patients participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed.

+ Participate in development of recovery plan to meet needs of patient based on needs assessment, patient interests and objectives of therapy.

+ Encourage clients with special needs and circumstances to acquire new skills and get involved in health-promoting leisure activities such as games, arts and crafts and gardening

+ Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams.

+ Obtain information from medical records, staff and the patient to assess patients capabilities, needs and interests.

+ Plan, organize, direct and participate in treatment programs and activities to facilitate patients rehabilitation and integrate into the community

+ Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served.

+ Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability toassess data reflective of the patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.

+ Demonstrate knowledge to assess, plan, and evaluate care in coordination with the health care team across thecontinuum

+ Assess and plan for the therapeutic leisure needs of the patient.

+ Plan and facilitate holiday and seasonal activities.

+ Plan and facilitate fundraisers for holiday and seasonal programing.

**What qualifications you will need:**

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Bachelors Degree
